The MEMS Festival has a number of bursaries available to assist postgraduate students and Early Career Researchers* to attend the festival. This is open to all delegates, whether speaking or just wishing to attend the festivities.
These bursaries are intended to cover travel and accommodation expenses incurred by attending the festival and will be allocated according to need and fair competition. Successful applicants will be reimbursed following the event. Please complete the Bursary Application Form if you wish to be considered.
Due to the nature of the event’s sponsorship, priority must be given to students from the participating universities of Eastern ARC (the University of East Anglia, the University of Essex and the University of Kent) and CHASE (The Universities of East Anglia, Essex, Kent and Sussex, the Open University, The Courtauld Institute of Art, Goldsmiths, University of London, Birkbeck, University of London and SOAS, University of London). This includes students who are either funded, part-funded, or self-funded and are registered at these institutions.
As the event is funded by both Eastern ARC and CHASE, students in receipt of funding from these consortia do not qualify for a bursary. Instead, they are able to claim back their expenses through their relevant institutional administrators, no prior-approval for funding support is required.
